About Department
The Mechanical Department of Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City, Institute of Engineering was established in the year 2006, and has grown over the years into a competent department with state of the art computing facilities, and dedicated faculty. Having started with a four year under-graduate program, B.E (MECH).
Mechanical Department believes in providing excellent education to all students which fosters creativity in Learning, research and building a knowledge base by imparting quality education. The department emphasizes the vision of the Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City ( MET-BKC ) for excellence in education. Highly qualified, dedicated faculty and good infra-structure facilities, make this dream realizable.
The curriculum of Mechanical Engineering course covers fundamental subjects like Applied Thermodynamics, Kinematics of Machinery, Thermal Engg., Machine Drawing and Manufacturing Processes in second year. In third year, focus is on imparting knowledge to the students in the core subjects like Heat and Mass transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Dynamics of Machinery, Internal Combustion Engine, Power Plant Engg., Mechatronics, etc. which will enable them to develop technical skills in the emerging areas. Coverage during the final year pertains to advanced technical and management subjects such as CAD/CAM & Finite Element Analysis, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Manufacturing Planning and Control, etc The course is practical oriented. Being fully residential, it is possible to impart a highly supervised training. The students are required to be confidently dealing with all necessary operation repair and maintenance to the machinery.
