About Department

The Information Technology Department of Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City, Institute of Engineering was established in the year 2006, and has grown over the years into a competent department with state of the art computing facilities, and dedicated faculty. Having started with a four year under-graduate program, B.E (IT).

Information Technology, as we know, is the technology that merges computing with high speed communication links carrying data, sound and video. The Under Graduate program in the Information Technology has been designed to learn and master the basic concepts and apply them in real world problems. This course was started to meet the growing demand in the world market for skilled I.T. professionals. The goal of the department is to establish state of the art computing environment to develop competent computer engineers imbibe with the spirit of professionalism and responsible citizenship. The department emphasizes the vision of the Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City ( MET-BKC ) for excellence in education. Highly qualified, dedicated faculty and good infra-structure facilities, make this dream realizable.

The department is well equipped with a good number of PCs and workstations hosting several software packages like oracle, Rational Rose, NET & SQL Server. Three well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories are linked through LAN. The department PCs are having internet connectivity. The internet server having a proper software to make the institute secure from unauthorized access.

  • We maintain separate well equipped IT labs for Computer Programming with OOPS (C++, JAVA)
  • Data Base Management System (platform Oracle 9i)
  • Object Oriented Analysis and Design (Platform Rational Rose)
  • We also maintain a separate Project Lab for Final Year Projects to encourage Students to work on new and Challenging Platform
  • We also hold mock Seminar especially for BE Students to help them prepare for presentation not only in their final year but also for the Organizations for which they will work.
  • Our Faculty Members are always available to guide our students whenever needed
  • Besides this we also maintain a Departmental Library for our students.
  • Every year we organize Technical activity like ITSA which enable students to improve their practical knowledge and organizational skills.
  • Industrial visit to expose student with industrial environment.

We, at IT, put in our best efforts to provide practical knowledge regarding IT to our students through different technical activities.
