About Department
The Department of Engineering Sciences of Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City, Institute of Engineering was established in the year 2006, and has grown over the years into a competent department with state of the art computing facilities, and dedicated faculty.
The Department of Engineering Sciences believes in providing excellent education to all students which fosters creativity in Learning, research and building a knowledge base by imparting quality education. The department emphasizes the vision of the Mumbai Education Trust’s, Bhujbal Knowledge City (MET-BKC) for excellence in education. Highly qualified, dedicated faculty and good infra-structure facilities, make this dream realizable.
For the aspirants taking engineering education, it is very important to have abilities to apply knowledge of mathematics and sciences to engineering problems. It is also crucial to have good analytical and data interpretation skills so that one can identify the problems and provide optimum solutions. At the same time, they should have also understanding of perceptive of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Under The Department of Engineering Sciences, the students are prepared and taught the physical, chemical and mathematical sciences with applied approach. The department also imbibes basic engineering principles by teaching the students subjects related to all Engineering branches.
With a holistic approach to student development, along with academics, there is a strong focus on extra-curricular activities which instill values of leadership and team building. This important task of life skills development is also handled by department. To produce proficient members in the science and engineering communities, the department provides an encouraging environment which helps them to develop their intellectual and critical thinking capabilities.
The Department has highly qualified and experienced faculty with diverse educational background. The Department has all the necessary laboratories required for first year of engineering course as per the syllabus of Savitribai Phule Pune University. All the laboratories and workshop are well equipped with modern infrastructure so that the student can gain maximum knowledge through that. The Department fosters departmental and interdisciplinary teaching and research because of diversity of faculty it has.
