About Department

The Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department of MET’s Institute of Engineering, Bhujbal Knowledge City was established by Mumbai Educational Trust in the year 2006, and has grown over the years into a competent department with state of the art Laboratories and Computing facilities and dedicated faculties.

The department emphasizes the vision of the Mumbai Educational Trust’s, Institute of Engineering, Bhujbal Knowledge City for excellence in education. Highly qualified, dedicated faculties and good infra-structure facilities make this dream realizable.

The department provides thorough knowledge to all the students and prepare them to achieve core competencies in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication. The emphasis is given on Semiconductor devices and circuits, microprocessor, microcontrollers and their interfacing. On the other hand with the explosive growth of the users of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in last two decades, there is a tremendous increase in deployment of communication infrastructures for large carrier bandwidth inclusive of wire-line and wireless networks for convergence of voice, data and video. The great success of the Internet and Wireless communications has opened a new vista for future all-IP applications. Such convergence of communication networks and miniaturization of devices and systems are posing interesting technological and business challenges.

The Department is having well equipped laboratories to impart the practical knowledge  in the field of Electronics Devices and Circuits, Analog and Digital Integrated Circuits, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Analog and Digital Communication, Microwave Communication, Fiber Optic Communication, Software Laboratories.

The Department believes in promoting interaction of students and faculty with the industry personnel. The Industry Institute collaboration aims for technical skill enhancement of students and faculty by means of industrial training, internship. Department is in alliance with industries for internships, industrial training and industrial visits.

Key Features:

  • The Department has eight laboratories for practicing Basic Electronics, Analog and Digital Integrated Circuits, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, PCB, Digital Electronics and VLSI Lab , Analog and Digital Communication, Microwave Communication and Fiber Optic Communication and Software.
  • The Department is well equipped with equipment's like Function generators, CROs, DSO, Spectrum Analyzer, PLC, Microwave bench, Printed Circuit board lab setup.
  • The Department has different software for performing Simulations, Practical's in the field of Signal processing, Communication, Automation, etc.
  • The Department is has active IEEE students chapter.
  • The staff members and students of Dept. are members of professional societies like IEEE, ISTE, etc.
  • The Department conducts technical activities in which students get the opportunities to organize as well as to participate in these activities like Paper presentation, Project exhibition, Technical quiz etc.
  • Every year Department organizes Industrial Visit to reputed Organizations and Industries like GMRT, NPCIL, Samsonite India, Varun Agro Ltd., Sahyadri Farm, etc.
  • Apart from Central Library the Dept is having its own library for students and faculty for immediate reference.
